What a great HR-themed series the Chamber Coalition of Dakota County has put together. This Coalition is a partnership between 5 independent Chambers including Apple Valley, Burnsville, Hastings, Lakeville and River Heights Chambers of Commerce to provide programing that helps businesses across 6 communities connect & grow. This month’s seminar was hosted by the Apple Valley Chamber at Uponor’s North American Headquarters right here in Apple Valley.
UPONOR PRESENTATION: We started the seminar off with a welcome note from Apple Valley Mayor Clint Hooppaw and our series sponsor Wings Financial Credit Union. Moderated by Chamber President Ed Kearney and Uponor Community Relations Manager Aubrey Mozer, the first presentation provided amazing insight presented by Uponor VP of HR Erica Amevo. Held in their amazing training center, the facility is unsurpassed. Erica gave everyone great ideas and a firsthand look on how Uponor has adapted and innovated to half the workforce working from home and/or a unique hybrid model, and ideas to manage hiring and workflow including from many working around the country. Christin Erdman also presented best practices for Uponor as she is Director of Employee Experience for Uponor.
Next was HR Book Author Richard Gunderson who had great ideas, research and clear identification of problems with hiring that so many employers make. We ended with an exclusive tour of the manufacturing plant and a catered reception.
The last segment of this HR Series will be hosted by Lakeville Chamber and will be held in conjunction with our joint trade show / Business After Hours at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club. We have renamed this event from what was known as our Countywide Business After Hours and will instead be known as “COCKTAILS AND CONVERSATION.” That event will be at Brackett’s Nov. 10th beginning at 3 p.m. so mark your calendars. More to come soon on that event with our Chamber partners.
