FORMER DQ TO BECOME DAVE’S HOT CHICKEN

Minnesota native and former NBA player Kris Humphries’ family is planning to open up to 16 DAVE’S HOT CHICKEN locations in Minnesota. The first is now open in Minnetonka, the second is planned for Ford Parkway in St. Paul and their 3rd will open next to McDonald’s in Apple Valley at the former Dairy Queen which closed several years ago.

Kris Humphries played for the U of M before being the 14th NBA draft pick in 2004. He played for 8 teams throughout his NBA career and the Humphries family also have ownership in Minnesota in Crisp & Green and Five Guys locations.

DAVE’S HOT CHICKEN began in Pasadena, CA in 2017. Today they have over 100 locations in the US and many in Canada and the mid-east. Other celebrity owners and investors in franchises include Drake, Samuel L. Jackson, Maria Shriver and Michael Strahan. Their chicken is “Nashville style” and they also have sides like fries, mac and cheese and more.

While most restaurants serve variations of chicken, Apple Valley restaurants that they’re overall specialty is chicken include Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, Chick-fil-A, KFC and Buffalo Wild Wings which with the addition of Dave’s Hot Chicken and the soon to open Popeye’s Chicken on Cedar in front of ALDI next to Arby’s, gives a wide selection of completely different variations and choices in Apple Valley.
