EVENT RECAP: RIBBON CUTTING AT QDOBA

In the former location of Panera Bread just north of Target in downtown Apple Valley, the Chamber and City hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony last week welcoming QDOBA Mexican Eats. The franchise owner (this means this business is locally owned, not company owned), has 11 locations with 9 in the Twin Cities, this location in Apple Valley and one in Duluth. After comments and the ribbon cut, all Chamber members and their guests were treated to a free lunch, and earlier in the day QDOBA gave away free burritos for 1 year to the first 100 people in line.

Chamber President Ed Kearney emceeing the ribbon cutting started with the fact he has been several times to their original location which in the 1990’s in Denver was called ZUMA and later changed to QDOBA and is still there. After Ed’s comments, Mayor Clint Hooppaw gave specific economic impact details and appreciation.  Today they have over 750 locations noting 82 in Colorado and 25 in Minnesota. USA Today named them in the Top Ten Fast Casual Dining.
