Yesterday we hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony for Memorial Blood Center in Apple Valley as a joint event with Apple Valley and Lakeville Chambers and Cities. Located next to the new Caribou on Cedar & 145th St, comments were made by both Mayors, both Chamber Presidents, Memorial Blood Center officials, the Fairview blood lab Director and a woman who shared her story about how she almost died in childbirth if not for the immediate 6 pints of blood that saved her that moment.

“The new state of the art Memorial Blood Center in Apple Valley is literally a “lifeline” for the health of our entire southern communities. Located in the center of Dakota County, nearly half-million people will benefit with lifesaving speed and blood supply to our hospitals, clinics and emergency services. This greatly enhances access to both donors and recipients. The need is urgent and Memorial Blood Center will save thousands of lives. Their presence is a gift.” Ed Kearney, President Apple Valley Chamber of Commerce.
