Ribbon Cutting at Caribou
The anticipation for the new CARIBOU COFFEE on Cedar just across from Kwik Trip in front of Hope Church has been replaced by the sounds of cheerful conversations lifted by the aromas of fresh coffee. This convenient location is located on the east side of Cedar to capture northbound traffic during the critical morning drive times. They have a long drive up lane and a modern cabin feel beside a fireplace inside. They also will keep their current Caribou next to Applebee’s on Cedar open to capture dine in and drive up better and faster than ever.
Chamber President Ed Kearney and Apple Valley Mayor Clint Hooppaw made welcoming remarks sprinkled with good humor to fit the light waking moments of the new store and our members present. Most of Apple Valley City Council was participated as well as did City Administrator Tom Lawell, the Chamber Board and Chamber Ambassadors. Caribou District Manager Cory Fruit as well as Caribou’s Mary Fasching from their headquarters who is Caribou’s People & Culture Business Partner (we love that title), told us “wow, we do openings all the time everywhere and never have we felt so welcome as here by the Chamber and City. You are all so thoughtful in your words and presence. We wish we recorded this for other cities to see. Can we use some of your notes at our annual meeting?” They were genuinely honored.
This Apple Valley Caribou along with the Caribou we helped open at the new Lunds & Byrelys on Pilot Knob are the newest of 750 locations (not counting their nearly 300 overseas locations). Caribou began operations in Edina in 1992 with their first store. They are owned now by German JAB Holdings who locate their operations in Luxembourg and also own Panera brands, Peet’s Coffee chain (huge in Germany and the west coast of the US), Einstein Bagels, Keurig, Bruegger’s and Krispy Kremes.
