COFFEE CONNECTION AT FIT ACADEMY

Sip by sip, conversation by conversation and the breakfast bites in between, what a fantastic and eye-opening COFFEE CONNECTION we had at FIT Academy last week.    From seeing a parade of 1st graders to all the older kids, education is in good hands.   FIT ACADEMY is a Charter school which a fully public school within School District 196 except they are operated by a board of parents and not directly by the District 196 School Board.

We thank Claud Allaire, the founder and Executive Director of the school which is K-12 and was named by Sun ThisWeek newspaper as the readers choice of best school last year and 2 other years.  Located right behind the Municipal Center, they have nearly 400 students and 20 full-time teachers.  Many of us were there as school was opening and saw just like the craft coffee brought in, we saw a warmth in how teachers and administrators knew all the kids names, high-5’s to students walking in the door with enthusiasm and just like the barista coffee.   Thank you to ALL FROM OUR CHAMBER MEMBERS WHO TOOK THE TIME TO ATTEND.   We hope you found the rich educational experience focused on excellence (physical, emotional and individualized learning) as an inspiring way to start your own day as it certainly awakened all of our senses.  Our future workforce is training now for excellence.
