RIBBON CUTTING AT FLOOR & DECOR

Floor & Décor had a private invitation only VIP & Contractor dinner in the store where over 800 people attended and trade show booths were throughout of preferred vendors.  Christina, the Apple Valley Store General Manager conducted the drawing for an over $50,000 value for a YETTI Fish House with full kitchen etc.  In addition they had over $10,000 in other drawing items for those present.

They asked Chamber President Ed Kearney if he was all set for the ribbon cutting 2 days later for their actual opening to the public.  Ed said “yes but wouldn’t it be more fun to break something instead of ribbon cut much like the launch of a ship?”  Two days later at the ribbon cutting morning, Laney who was present and is their Director of 120 stores out of their Atlanta headquarters,  said “Good idea Ed.  We have a white marble kitchen counter to smash with hammers instead of the ribbon cutting and corporate liked the idea so much, we will open all future stores in the same way from now on.”  Let’s just say it was a smashing success with Ed, Mayor Clint Hooppaw, City Council members, City Administrator and other VIP’s  with hammers hitting all at the same time.
