CHAMBER WELCOMES NEW COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

Tim Benetti (above center) has been named new PLANNING DIRECTOR for Apple Valley. He was on his 3rd day in the position when City Administrator Tom Lawell (above right) brought him to our Chamber office to sit and get acquainted with Chamber President Ed Kearney (above left), Chamber Business Manager Fabiana, our Chamber as a whole and our business priorities. We found him to be very approachable, nice, tall, and he had an amazing resume of development in 3 states. Most recently, he has been Community Development Director for Mendota Heights and brings a lot to the table.

His predecessors were Rick Kelley and Bruce Nordquist over the last 25 years. Rick passed away a decade ago and Kelley Park is named after him (he was told the park will be named after him within a day or so of his death) and Bruce Nordquist recently retired after such a successful career with Richfield and the last decade with Apple Valley and facilitating our amazing growth.

We look forward to working with Tim on your behalf and we are off to a great start for this very important position and City Department. The Interim Community Development Director Tom Lovelace is set to retire soon after the transition.
