Chamber & City Promoting Small Business Saturday
Mayor Clint Hooppaw, City Council and the Chamber are once again joining forces to promote SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY (two days after Thanksgiving).
Together, we produce ads in the local newspaper, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter to draw visitors from around the Twin Cities (including the 1.3 million per year who visit our MN Zoo) to SHOP APPLE VALLEY.
As can be seen in the photo above, the Mayor read aloud the PROCLAMATION of SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY at last week’s City Council meeting. Chamber President Ed Kearney who also oversees the Convention & Visitors Bureau explained the approach of “SHOP SMALL—SAVE BIG!” and how the ads will remind folks that shopping small also includes dining locally to make a day out of your experience. While American Express really promotes Small Business Saturday, our approach is to remind people to shop small every day, and to not forget someone important on your list – including yourself!
