Riverside All-Stars in Kelly Park this Friday
We are excited to welcome the Riverside All-Stars to Kelley Park this Friday! Every member is a full-time professional musician dedicated to providing you with top quality entertainment throughout the evening. They sing hits from every decade including Bruno Mars, Michael Jackson, Taylor Swift, Prince, Garth Brooks, Stevie Wonder, Adele, Justin Timberlake, Shania Twain, Guns N Roses, Queen and many more.
We are also excited to announce that Shannon Butler is going to do a short lesson on swing dancing during intermission! Shannon Butler began teaching swing dance in the Twin Cities in 1997. Since then, she has taught at dance events across the US and in Europe, danced in national TV commercials, music videos and in 2 movies. She is the founder and host of Miss Shannon’s Sock Hop and the long-running Swing Dance Wednesday Night Twin Cities. All are welcome in her classes which focus on the enjoyment and health benefits of social dance.
Tonight’s night-of sponsor is Uponor North America, and we are grateful for their support!
Kelley Park is located at 6855 Fortino Street.
IT IS Also A NIGHT TO REMEMBER DAVID ROLAND
Late son of County Commissioner Mary and our former Mayor for 22 years
Uponor who is sponsoring Friday’s concert said they chose this night just to honor Mary and David.
County Commissioner Mary gave us a quote:
“David was a child of Apple Valley. He was a Director of the Apple Valley Arts Foundation. David was a sustainability intern at Uponor so they knew him well. David probably came up to many of your doors during my campaigns for Mayor/Commissioner. David was a naturalist—loving the outdoors. He graduated from the School of Environmental Studies at MN Zoo and from Gustavus Adolphus College as a political science major, environmental studies major and a minor in music. He loved Carl Sagan and the stars and Friday we will celebrate David under the stars with the Riverside All-Stars band. Best of all worlds for David.” The band is going to play Somewhere Over the Rainbow in his honor and we will pass out bubbles so that people can celebrate David.
This summer we are giving away three bikes and helmets courtesy of Valley Bike and Ski! To enter the free drawing, email your name, address and phone number to [email protected] and we will announce the winners on Friday!
