UNEMPLOYMENT CHECKS END SATURDAY
Steve Grove (DEED Commissioner) said that once the extra unemployment checks end this Saturday, it should have some impact on workers returning to the workforce. He also stated that with kids back in school, that also gives more flexible time for people to join the workforce. While right now 205,000 Minnesotans are receiving unemployment benefits, he expects that number to drop to 100,000 by the end of October. We have read elsewhere that workers should try and get the best jobs possible out there now because if the pendulum swings the other way, candidates may find the best jobs will be harder to find as others will be returning get those jobs first. The best time to look for a job is right now.
