New Mayor of Apple Valley

At tonight’s City Council meeting, it was voted on by members of City Council as provided by State law that the new Mayor of Apple Valley will be Clint Hooppaw (pictured). He will serve as Mayor of Apple Valley for a 2 year term.
City Council also voted to accept candidates to fill the City Council vacancy beginning next week. Applications for City Council will be accepted starting next week until February 15th, followed by an interview process.
In 1996, former Mayor of Apple Valley Will Branning was elected County Commissioner just as former Mayor Mary Hamann-Roland was. Gary Humphrey was similarly elected Mayor from City Council to fill Will’s position. Chamber President Ed Kearney stood before City Council tonight and congratulated Mayor Clint Hooppaw and thanked him and the rest of City Council for their partnership with the Chamber, adding that we look forward to working closely with them on economic development.
