New Menards Opens “Softly”, Chamber & City Get Grand Tour
This Monday, the new Menard’s had a soft opening without an official ribbon cutting due to their COVID concerns about large gatherings. General Manager Jason Foskett took the Chamber and a few City officials on a personal tour of the new store and gave us a behind-the-scenes look. He stated this location is so unique with a special 2nd level lighting mezzanine which includes a massage-chair showroom. They also boast a unique expansive storage area throughout the store on the second level. They have 202,000 square feet of total building space with 158,000 of that being heated. Out back they have a huge lumberyard which you can drive right into either of the two giant bays. The “old” Apple Valley Menards store will remain open at the same time until October 22nd and offer special deals. The new Menards store is located at the corner of County 42 and Johnny Cake Ridge Road in Apple Valley on the location of the former Hanson Pipe Company.
Special thanks to Chris Ellickson of Ellickson Photography for the photos.
