Ribbon Cutting at Zvago Central Village
A warm welcome to all the new residents of Zvago Central Village, Apple Valley’s newest co-op apartments. Located across from GrandStay Hotel, this new lifestyle community is specifically designed for seniors who are not ready to think about going into a traditional senior home. After an uplifting welcome from Ecumen CEO Shelley Kendrick, Tim Nichols (President of Lifestyle Communities) gave a broad overview of this unique new lifestyle concept. Tim has built many projects in Apple Valley including Summerhill Co-Op at 140th & Cedar and Ecumen (on the East side of Vivo’s pond). The business community congratulates him on creating another spectacular property in our central village. Chamber President Ed Kearney spoke about last year’s groundbreaking for Zvago. At that event, residents performed a traditional Scandinavian ground melding, where each brought soil from their home and mixed it with the soil where their new home at Zvago was about to be built. Ed had wrote a poem for the soil melding that was a hit so he repeated it at the ribbon cutting. Mayor Mary capped-off the event with an inspirational speech that was very personal about Zvago’s new residents, one of whom is her old neighbor.
