Ribbon Cutting at Un Mundo Nuevo Spanish Immersion Children’s Academy
We thought we would be welcoming them to Apple Valley but instead, they made us feel twice as welcome to their school. What a happy place. Before the ribbon cutting, we toured each classroom to speak to the kids who were in awe of the size of our scissors for ribbon cutting. This school is mostly non-spanish speaking students who are trying to be immersed into the Spanish language where it is spoken during all classes. Fabiana Pardo, our Chamber Business Manager went through a similar school from Kindergarten until high school and loved it. After comments from Chamber President Ed Kearney, Mayor Mary and the several owners, everyone enjoyed amazing catered Mexican food from “Andale” (which is so good it has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives) for a full lunch and dessert. They are already very active in our Chamber attending almost everything. They are a breath of fresh air in Apple Valley as anyone who met the owners would attest to. Nelly and Sandra are just amazing people who are passionate about their work and their community.
